CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
For UN Vesak Day 2019
Since 2004, the United Nations Day of Vesak has be celebrated fifteen times; twelve of the Celebrations were held in Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Thailand; two of them were held in Vietnam; one of them was celebrated in Sri Lanka. It makes a great contribution to the unity among Buddhism around the world and the enhancement of Buddhism.
The 16th United Nations Day of Vesak will be held in Vietnam by the National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, at the Tam Chuc International Buddhist Convention Center in Ha Nam Province from 12th -14th May, 2019.The theme of the 2019 UNDV is Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies. Wish that Buddhism can take the responsibilities for sustainable societies.
The estrangement between the religion and the young is the problem which the religion in the world has to face and pay more attention to. Buddhism is no exception.
10,000 people is expected to take part in the 2019 United Nations Day of Vesak, and we welcome their coming to the grand Celebrations. The human and financial resources will be very considerable. I, hereby, give my infinite respect for the host. In the end, I wish the Celebration a great success.
Yours in the Dhamma

The Most Ven. Ching Hsin
